Car Reviews 2008 Kia Rondo

The 2008 Kia Rondo is an exceptional value for its class, though not yet perfect in all areas. Starting at a base price of $16, 395, this car offers all the amenities of many full size vehicles, and a little extra interior room. The 2008 Kia Rondo was given the „Best Kept Secret for 2008“ and „Best New Wagon“ Awards by the editors of Myride.com. Though it may look compact in style, and have all of the tight-handling capabilities of some smaller models, it has all the stability of most full-size cars, and truly is a full-size drive. Coming with four doors and a hatch back, basic seating is for five people, with the option of an extra seat to allow for up to seven. I found the driver’s seat to offer enough ergonomic support to avoid any driving discomfort for up to about nine or ten hours of driving, though I did have an issue with the center console. This I found to be awkward, at best, and a potential driving hazard at worst, and although this car has a five-star rating in its crash tests, simply avoiding a crash to begin with could start with changing the placement of its cupholders. Being someone who is accustomed to driving a lot of miles, this was my one major concern about this vehicle, for the potential safety issue. Otherwise, I found it to be roomy enough, and easy to maneuver, even with little room to maneuver in. Its standard four cylinder engine is zippy, with all the get-up-and-go you could want (for the sports car driver in you). Though this is also a 2-wheel drive unit, it handles well and would be a good choice for someone who may do a lot of daily driving in and around a larger city, for instance. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as a travel vehicle for someone who drives long trips regularly, as the ride is a bit more stiff than you would probably want for this lifestyle, though for the occasional trip, it does perform well and ride comfortably enough. The back seat of the five seat unit has ample leg room for someone over six feet tall, which can be an added benefit for up to four adults. The 31.7 cu. ft cargo area offers numerous capabilities with storage cubicles under the floor panel allowing enough room for, for instance, a laptop in one cubicle, fishing poles in another, and more of whatever your smaller cargo needs may be in several others. Though the storage on average would be compatible, I would have to say nix on this one for those envisioning doing anything too close to off-road driving. Overall, the value for the price on this vehicle is exceptional, outside of one or two minor flaws. Find out more at Kia.com.
